Andrew posted here with the following survey results regarding what microISV’s are producing;

Andrew asked “does this mean that there’s plenty of opportunity for Micro ISV’s to start offering niche value-add SaaS, or does it mean that SaaS/v isn’t viable or isn’t in demand yet?”

Andrew works at Xero so it’s a safe bet to assume that he knows the answer already, but for those who don’t;

SaaS is the big thing for the next few years. While it is yet to build significant traction it is a must do for software companies and will be where the majority of the growth in the next few years is. MicroISVs should have a very, very good reason for doing desktop software as opposed to going down a SaaS startup route.
