One of my readers (I always wanted to say that – gives me such an authoritative air), has been checking out Adobe’s recently acquired flash-based hosted word offering (and isn’t that a mouthful!) Buzzword.

In what can only be described a a telling comment on Adobe’s offering, said reader wrote;

I’ve always thought that just being able to achieve something (e.g. a UI) with a tool (e.g. flash) isn’t a reason for doing it – witness all the terrible flash UIs on the net. Add that to all the animation- before-the-website cases, and I’ve never been that impressed with flash in the wild.

But buzzword make me look again – if they “get” UI, then it could be quite compelling. The file-sharing UI also looked quite well-developed.

Could Buzzword be a taste of what the MS Office breaker will look like?

And is this a tad academic when you’re working from New Zealand using terrible internet connections and with this post in mind?

My assesment on the former is maybe and on the later yes at present but things, as thy say, can only get better.
