Great marketing, and for a good cause too….

By Ben Kepes

I’m a pretty big reader – no TV, an intellectual for a father and a fairly heavy library all add up to a reasonably high “burn rate” when it comes to books. I was pretty stoked to be pointed to a new campaign by the NZ book council to encourage reading. The book council attempts to promote the love of books and reading – all good aims really.

I’m not however going to talk about the positive virtues of reading (wrong forum for that). I am however going to point reader who haven’t already seen it to the book council’s viral marketing campaign “read at work” – it’s a great (and funny/tongue in cheek) way of getting people to think about literature and the reading thereof.

It’s also possibly a little bit of a parody of those out there who overstate the importance of all those analysis documents and plans that seem to come across business desks with great frequency.

Check out the campaign here.
