An interesting interview over here on ZDNet with Will Poole who co-leads Microsoft’s emerging markets unit.

Will talks about expanding the reach of Microsoft (and by extension technology generally) to new users. He discusses both emerging markets and emerging segments within existing markets.

Poole states that the biggest barrier to uptake within emerging segments is not, as he formerly assumed, affordability. Rather it is relevance – perhaps Microsoft will start looking solution-centric rather than technology-centric with this knowledge?
