Nimsoft, the company that provides IT management as a service (more on them here) today rolled out monitoring for a range of SAP products and services. The aim here is for Nimsoft Monitor to become the default monitoring service across all the products and services an enterprise uses – the addition of SAP to this mix furthers this aim.
This extension sees Nimsoft being able to monitor products including NetWeaver, SAP ECC, ABAP and Java – it also leverage community best practice guidelines by wrapping up a knowledge base of KPIs so that administrators can get a sense of how their applications are performing compared with broad industry norms. The solution was built by certified SAP Service Partner AGENTIL a vendor that specifically focuses on the building and maintaining of high performance SAP systems.
With Nimsoft Monitor for SAP users get:
- A unified view of SAP and associated network, server, database and storage components
- Template-based configuration to automate deployment across multiple SAP landscapes
- An agent-less design to provide non-intrusive and secure collection of KPIs
- A knowledge base of best-practice monitors and SAP transaction templates and thresholds
In an interesting use case, Litasco, a Russian oil company, used the solution to create a lightweight web-based dashboard to give oversight over a wide range of products and to see incidents and service availability across those products.
