Flying to Wellington this afternoon. Mainly a trip for pleasure. We’re going to The Police concert, catching up with freinds and family and possibly interspersing that with a little bit of Wellington based working.
I’ll be in and out of touch up there but will check my feedreader as often as possible to avoid the usual post-tripaway reader jam.
Meanwhile check out this article about Facebook and in particular some of its backers. The conspiracy theorists will love this one.
Ben Kepes is an analyst, an entrepreneur, a commentator and a business adviser. His business interests include a diverse range of industries from manufacturing to property to technology. As a technology commentator he has a broad presence both in the traditional media and extensively online. Ben covers the convergance of technology, mobile, ubiquity and agility, all enabled by the Cloud. His areas of interest extend to enterprise software, software integration, financial/accounting software, platforms and infrastructure as well as articulating technology simply for everyday users.
Have good a break Ben.
You should’ve said, we could’ve had a catch-up … enjoy The Police, the day is gonna be a stunner here in Wgtn!

I can understand the points the article is making about social networking. I haven’t joined one yet, perhaps in the future for marketing reasons, apart from that, it is more fun for me to just meet up with friends whom I haven’t seen for a while (some for years). If I connect with them via a social networking site, then it would be boring when you meet them in person, since they have seen your photos, know what you have been doing in your everyday life, blah, blah, blah, … What else to discuss, when you meet up since everything is known in advance before meeting up with friends.
My concert “review” – for what it’s worth.
