Ouch… speed wobbles hurt…

By Ben Kepes

Start-up and Icehouse incubatee OpenEye displays seems to be in serious difficulty. CEO and founder Gareth Croy has gone AWOL and staff numbers have plummeted from 21 earlier this year to only three now.

As I’ve said before – a good idea is one thing, but execution is the most important thing. It is a tad depressing to see someone involved with the Icehouse go bad. Incubators in general, and the Icehouse in particular are there to ensure companies can manage their growth related issues.

It also goes to show that awards (OpenEye one the incubatee award of the year a few months ago) mean nothing when commercial reality comes to bear.
