I’m a firm believer in the ascendency of on-demand office productivity suites. Offerings from Google, Microsoft, Zoho and others are making the space kind of busy.

I have to say that Zoho seems to be the pick of the bunch at the moment, even more so after the release this weekend of Show2.0. Show is Zoho’s presentation offering an, unlike Google docs presentation offering which is very functionality light, Zoho show seems as functional as power point.

Main features of the upgrade include;

  • Nice user interface
  • Support for themes
  • Support for shapes and clip art
  • High level of editing capability
  • Great import functionality

Zoho is also an interesting business case as it is a self funded proposition and, if one believes what the insiders are saying, is not a candidate for takeover by one of the big players – for this reason (and given the massive number of features rolling out from Zoho every month), Zoho gets my vote in the ascendency wars.

An introductory presentation is here.
