I usually balk at the inspirational tails of other entrepreneurs. Having been profiled a few times in magazines, papers and (believe it or not) a book, they sometimes leave me feeling a little high and dry. I mean there are no secrets to being successful – the old saying about 9 parts perspiration to fuel the one part inspiration is sometime right, but equally a moderately good idea with great timing and luck works well.

Anyway… my preconceptions aside I was interested to read this morning a bio of Tony Falkenstein and of his path from riches to rags and back again. It’s not the sort of story that one comes away with a checklist for being a successful entrepreneur – for that sort of thing visit Wil’s blog, but it is an interesting read.

All I can say (and it’s advice that is far to simple (and cheap) to be deemed worthwhile is en avant!
