Following on from my previous post about the breadth of product offerings in the SaaS accounting space, this morning I’ve been having a play with SaaSu’s NetAccounts and I have to say that it’s nice. Clean and tidy with a logical set out.

Net accounts is not yet customised for NZ but should be soon. It does however have a host of needed features – inventory, payroll etc that Xero does not have as yet – I’m sure Xero will be developing these things as we speak but the question is which will occur first – NetAccounts customised for NZ or Xero fully featured.

I imported one of my businesses accounts into NetAccounts from MYOB. While not a piece of cake it took less time than I would have expected and seemed to perform without any glitches. I’ll be assessing the offerings in the next few months and will look at making a full deployment decision thereafter. Interesting to note that NetAccounts is roughly 20% of the price of Xero.

Anyone feel like plugging some new figures into the Xero IPO document – something like revenue at 20% of expectation – methinks that would change the equation significantly!
