Interesting to read the Herald this morning and see a piece by CEO of Telecom NZ Paul Reynolds.

While others will no doubt comment on the pros or cons of Telecom strategy and the commitment to opening up and playing on a level field, I have to say that just the fact that the CEO enters into a dialogue is positive. One wouldn’t imagine Theresa Gattung, his predecessor, doing the same thing.

2008 will indeed be an interesting telco-year.

  • This is just pure spin from TEL. In the UK you can read it every day, all day if you wish – there’s so much of this pseudo-opinion piece stuff. We know precisely nothing about whether it was ghost-written or whether Reynolds himself.

  • BTW opinion/discussion pieces in the press are not really dialogue … where’s his DDI?

  • Fair enough Robin but my point was that it is an improvement from the days before Paul Reynolds came on board. As for his DDI you raise a good point – perhaps TNZ can be challenged to open up to that extent????

  • Try and get a front-line DDI, let alone a team leader and you have your answer.

  • Re-reading youe suggestion, yes they can be challenged, but their reaction would be instinctly negative IMO.
