In the past year or so I’ve become really bullish about cloud and broader technology story. Big bets like the Softlayer acquisition, difficult decisions like dropping their Smart Cloud product for the undeniably better Softlayer-powered product line, Watson as a Service and other initiaitves show that (at long last) IBM really gets where their future lies. So I’ve been particularly interested to see developments in the broader Softlayer ecosystem. True IBM has been, for want of a better word, a little douchey in their marketing battles with Amazon Web Services (AWS) but underlying that is real product with real enterprise value.
