I spend a fair amount of time amongst those who have embraced the new forms of digital communications. Often when we’re confronted by someone less than enamoured with the offerings (I didn’t say Luddite!), we’re left stuttering trying to justify what has, in essence, become a part of our day to day lives.
Oftentimes we’re left clutching at straws and using dubious benefits to justify what we do.
I was pointed out a video that demonstrated this well (and humorously to boot) – it’s well worth a look;
Of course this sort of dialogue makes us look silly, and new communication look pointless – which it clearly isn’t. So I’ll practive giving an elevator pitch for the tools I use and say;
these tools enhance communication, creativity, information sharing, and, most notably, collaboration among those who use them with me
Anyone else got a better justification
Social networks are a tool? Please!
They are what they are… ways of connecting. Collaboration is… collaboration.
