Rod says the iPhone/iTouch are revolutionary. His viewpoint is based on his observations of the way people use them (he’s been in the states for a few days). He feels they are “game changers” and actually change behaviour.
I reckon they’re big but they are evolutionary – my viewpoint is based on the fact that they’re merely utilising existing stuff, just displaying it (or providing a UI) in a different way. It’s also based on the observation that people always get excited about new “stuff” but the acid test is 6 months, a year, a decade down the track.
I reckon that I’m communication with a skewed audience which is more likely to concur with Rod’s point of view but I’d be keen to hear what others think….
